Yummy Panini (bread) Burger
Nothing can beat the taste of a good homemade burger, with the right amount of sweetness, tang and flavor. I chose panini bread as it is a delectable milky bread that is slightly sweet, soft and moist . Any other regular bun can also be used. Burgers can be served at any time of the day, but I prefer this particular one at breakfast with a strong cup of home brewed coffee.
This is what you will need:
- 1 Beef patty
- 1 Handful onion rings (yellow onion)
- Garlic butter
- 2 Large eggs
- Milky cheese spread
- Stored boerewors oil or olive oil (coconut oil will also do)
- 1 Fresh tomato
- Cucumber
- Horse radish (optional)
Method:
Heat a small amount of oil in a sauce pan at medium heat.
Crack eggs into the pan and fry. I chose to do sunny side up eggs.
Remove eggs and set aside
In the same pan add a small amount of boerewors oil ( olive oil or coconut oil)
Fry beef patty according to how well you like your meat to be done
Remove the beef patty and set aside
Add a teaspoon of garlic butter to the pan and fry the onion rings
Once onions are succulent or browned around the edges remove from the pan and switch the heat off
Burger preparation:
Cut panini bread in half
Spread both sides with milky cheese spread
On one of the sides place both eggs (one on top of the other)
Add 3 or 4 slices of fresh tomato , 4 thin slices of horse raddish, and 4 cucumber slices
Drizzle nando’s peri-peri sauce, mustard sauce and sweet chilli chutney (tomato sauce can also be added in small amounts)
On the other half, place the beef patty
Add onion rings and carefully put the half’s together
Enjoy!!!
