Who is King Elegant?
King Elegant is an upcoming Afro-pop and Dancehall artist who brings a never been heard before “fresh flow” to the Namibian music industry. The 24 year old artist started his musical career in 2016, releasing his debut single “Woman Crush Wednesday” which was followed by “MamaRosa” in 2017. He is signed to the new dynamic record label, Blvc Boxx Entertainment alongside TopCheri and Athawise.
King Elegant was born in northern Namibia. He attended his primary school at Martti Arhtisaari and he did his secondary education at Eldorado Secondary School in Windhoek. In 2011, he became a member of Mushe’s dancing crew as a back-up dancer. The artist says his love and passion for music drew him to the music industry. “I have always been in the music industry, it started way back. I was the guy that use to perform at talent shows and music has always been apart of me. I have always wanted to do music.”
The singers also mention that his parents were against his career choice as an artist, they rather wanted him to join the family business. But that did not stop him from chasing after his dreams.

When asked what inspired him to do music the artist said; “I am inspired by a lot of people because they all have different stories to tell. I don’t have a specific artist that inspires me but rather their story, because everyone has a different story to tell.” The singer also spoke about how he felt about the fact that he is being compared to Nigerian heavyweight, Wizkid. “I am not Wizkid. I am King Elegant and I don’t like it when people compare me to others, it”s wrong.”
“I am who I am because of my fans and I can never be arrogant to them. Ek is nie n Chester nie,” says the singer in Afrikaans. My fans are the people selling me out there, with them I am always willing to share.”

King Elegant has so far collaborated with TopCheri, Exit, Topsy Kim, Eddy K, PDK, and label mates from Blvc Boxx among others.
King Elegant will be dropping his debut album later this year titled The Optimist. The Optimist is about what has been happening in his life. A release date is yet to be announced.
“I have encountered a lot while recording the album. What happened behind close doors. I went through many challenges and I did what I did to bring out this album.”
He recently released a video teaser titled “Elegant Freestyle” on YouTube which is expected to be part of the upcoming album.
