Who Is James Omlongo

One of the latest hot prospects in the music industry who made a name for himself with his smash hit single titled ” Ano Kuuvitendje ” James Omlongo had a sit down with Wamboesbelike to talk about his journey in the music industry.

In an era where Hip Hop, Afro Trap and House music are the dominating genre’s in Namibia, it would appear that Kwaito is becoming extinct, however, the recent rise of a few artists from the north have ensured that the genre never dies, James who is among one of those few musicians spoke about his journey into the music industry.

“I have started singing at a very young age. About 14. I used to perform at my primary school in class and when I matriculated in 2017 at Gabriel Taapopi ss  Omlongo started doing great Music than  And in 2018 he dropped a single that got everyone on their feet “Inamudanenange” ft Yboy and Vikta juice boy”

Platforms like Soundcloud, Youtube, and Deezer have made it possible for musicians to be scouted by labels and get signed, however, it has also allowed musicians the prospect to be Independent, which is why James has no desire to join a label.

“I am currently not at any record label and don’t intend to join any. I want to own a record label and sign other artists”

A lot of upcoming artists are either inspired by The Dogg or Gazza, James on the other has drawn inspiration from Qondja, he also gave a heads up on when he might drop his album.

“I am inspired by Qondja his my role model and I have always been a fan of his music since day one,as far as my album is concerned, I could drop it in November”
