Villarreal Keeps La Liga Alive In Europe
Villarreal reached the UEL final as they held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at The Emirates to ensure that there won’t be an all-English final.
It was nearly a perfect week for English teams in Europe with both Manchester City and Chelsea winning their matches to warrant that they set up an English final, while in the Europa League Manchester United pretty much advanced to the final after they thrashed Roma 6-2, Arsenal, on the other hand, lost the first leg 2-1 and failed to win the return leg. Unai Emery beating his former team rubbed old wounds and hurt Arsenal fans who demanded their current manager Arteta to be sacked.
Manchester United and Villarreal have faced each other four times in Europe with both matches ending 0-0, however, this year there will be a winner and what will be a huge final for Villarreal who have never won a European competition.
