The Resurrection of Virgil Vries
Virgil Vries is back to his best again as the Namibian shot stopper has been fantastic for Moroka Swallows who find themselves 2nd on the Glad Africa Championship.
Virgil Vries’s final time at Kaizer Chiefs has been very difficult as the number two was asked to fill the boots of the number one which was a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing because Vries would get more minutes and an opportunity to become Chiefs number one, however it was also a curse. After all, minor errors and the pressure to replace Khune would become too much for Vries to handle, as a result, the Chiefs fans and the Chiefs management lost their patients with Vries which resulted in club releasing him things went from bad to worse as Vries was no longer Namibia’s number one goalkeeper. With the walls closing in on Vries, Moroka Swallows offered him a 2nd chance to prove himself.
Vries has proven himself so far at Moroka Swallows being one of the best shot-stoppers in the league and with Moroka Swallows currently lying 2nd on the log the chances of them winning the Glad Africa Championship are high.
Former Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United and Baroka goalkeepee Virgil Vries has been immense for Swallows FC in the GAC since signing for them late last year.
