The Never Walk Alone Fundraising Gala Dinner

The never walk alone fundraising Gala dinner will be held on November 24, 2021, at XS lounge & Restaurant (southern industry Marconi str around 18H00), with special guest Jessica Ayanda Nkosi, a South African actress and TV presenter best known for her leading roles in M-Net commissioned telenovelas Isibaya and the Queen.

The Never Walk Alone solely relies on the donations of generous sponsors. These sponsors may be individuals, corporates or local or international NGO’s and Foundations. Mr Ekandjo has committed to making the very first contribution of N$100,000 that will buy at least 292 pairs of shoes to stick start the project. A total of $1 million has been raised so far, with the organization aiming for a total of $2 million. The project has been endorsed by the ministry of culture and education.

With the mission statement “Restoring dignity in the Namibian child” and the vision statement “To turn every barefoot into a happy foot,” FOUNDER/CEO Tim Ekandjo hopes to instil a new sense of confidence in these children, reminding them that their lives, dreams, and aspirations matter, and that poverty is a state of mind from which they can walk out and that they are worthy.

The project will employ volunteers who will daily take care of the day-to-day administration of the project. The project will run for as long as every Namibian child have a new pair of shoes, no matter how long it takes, “because we believe that no child should ever have to go barefoot.” With Project Never Walk Alone, our message is that given the right shoes, these children can step into their destinies no matter their current circumstances because these shoes allow them to walk from right here to their dreams.”
