This week we take a look at what makes this young entrepreneur.
When did you start your business and why a “Kitchen”?
I started my business in March 2017 with the purpose of being self employed and having the opportunity to employ others. I opted for a kitchen because I love to cook and decided why not take advantage of my passion and make money in the process.
What types of food do you sell in your kitchen?
I sell local cuisine, mostly Oshiwambo traditional cuisine and also a bit of international food.
What challenges have you faced as a young black entrepreneur and how did you overcome them?
Some friends and family tend to not take your business seriously, and they think just because they know you or they are relatives of yours than they can eat for free and not pay, it slows business down and the only way to overcome it is to be stern with them.
What advice will you give anyone who wants to start a business of their own?
People will doubt you, learn not to listen to people and believe in yourself, work on your dreams. The biggest secret is to never give up on your dreams and don’t wait for opportunities, create them.
Sai’s Kitchen is also situated in town, in the NAMPA building, next to Trustco and the National Library. They also do lunch deliveries on request.
