Oshana Annual Festival to Take Over Northern Namibia
From one festival to the next, there is always some festival that is scheduled for any given time. Festivals promote diversity, they increase creativity and offer opportunities for local entrepreneurs to grow. In short, they make cities and towns better places to live. This December, the first edition of the Oshana Annual Festival is hitting northern Namibia.
The Oshana Annual Festival is an exhibition festival that will brin together both young and old people to create a market, to showcase various activities like sport, arts, culture, and entertainment. There will be stalls for food and drinks, music, kids corner and street theater among others.
The founder of the event Erkan “Skinchy” Shinoto aim to attract an estimate audience of 5000 – 7000 people for the first edition of the festival. “This will be the first year it will be hosted, and we chose to host it in Ongwediva, because we firmly believe Ongwediva is a town that is fast growing in the entertainment industry, and it needs more events of this sort.”
The main sponsor of the event is NBL – Tafel Lite. Other sponsors include NBC, Pick n Pay, G2G Group and Wamboesbelike. The underlying factor of the festival is to channel innovation through celebrating Start-Ups, SMEs and corporates. The Oshana Annual Festival will kick off on the 29th of November up until the 1st of December. Tickets are available for N$ 20 and can be purchased on Webticket and Pick n Pay. The event will be hosted at the Ongwediva Trade Center in Ongwediva.
