Marula-Cream Mug Cake
Shall we? you ask, in a calming sure and meek voice i confidently respond, yes we shall, have our liquor in cake form. Lets toast to that!!!
No glass, no ice, all that is need is a mug of cake and a spoon to scoop every bit of it away. Marula-cream cakes are so delicious and easy to make. This adult dessert is packed with ingredients that compliment each other wonderfully. Highly enjoyable yet remarkably filling, what’s there not to love about it? This divine sweet treat promises to have your guest/s wanting and begging for more.
This is what you will need….
Ingredients:
5 tables spoons of apricot jam
1 1/2 cups of Marula Cream or Amarula
1 cup of milk
3 tablespoons of Rama butter
2 eggs
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons baking powder
4 cups cake flour
1/2 a teaspoon salt
and 1/2 tin condensed milk
2 tablespoons of baking powder
Garnish:
Vanilla ice cream
Chocolate cream biscuits or Oreo cookies
Extra:
Hazelnut chocolate sauce
Method:
To a medium sized bowl, sift the flour and baking powder.
Then add all the other dry ingredients.
To a separate smaller bowl, add and mix the milk, marula-cream, and melted apricot jam. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredient and mix well. Be careful not to over mix.
Add the melted butter and condensed milk to the mixture and stir well.
Once done, spray the tins/mugs with baking non stick spray then scoop cake mixture into the tins/mugs.
In preheated oven, place the cups/tins into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees.
Remove tins from oven and allow to cool of a bit.
Cut the top of the cake off and drizzle hazelnut chocolate sauce on the remaining cake.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and garnish with chocolate cream biscuits (or Oreo cookies) and cocoa powder.
