Black Namibians Take a Stand As Liya Reclaims Her Positions In The Namibian Hockey U/16 Team

Black Namibians all over the country took a stand on and off social media as Ruth Herunga mother of Liya took to her twitter handle to explain how her daughter was unfairly removed from the Namibian U/16 Hockey Team to accommodate a white girl.

The Hockey team which is expected to tour to Zimbabwe next month originally included Liya, who was the only black player in the squad, however they decided to remove her to include a white girl, without giving a good reason

Justice was however served as Liya returned to the squad and the coach was dismissed, in the process. With racism roaming around the sports world in Namibia makes it difficult for black players to get notice unless Namibians stand up and speak up against the  injustice.
