Katutura Fashion Week 2019

Katutura Fashion Week (KFW) is a platform solely aimed at recognizing and awarding the un-recognized, known but celebrated, or renowned but not awarded. The KFW Awards will be presented on Saturday, 28th September 2019 on the last day of KFW.

Katutura Fashion Week (KFW) is dedicated in so many ways to bring fashion to the people as well as uniting cultures through fashion. Especially embracing the talented local designers from all walks of life in Namibia, to showcase just how much talent the country has, and at the same time identifying potential models across the country to give them a chance to be a part of this experience and to diversifying fashion avenues.

Katutura Fashion Week is envisioned to become the most influential fashion platform in Namibia which will happen on an annual basis. Katutura Fashion Week will promote Namibian designers, and give an opportunity to emerging fashion designers through all 14 regions of the country a chance to showcase and receive the necessary exposure which can help in catapulting them into a bigger market. The end goal of Katutura Fashion Week is to have designers from around the African continent and the world to come and showcase their work in the Land of the Brave.

The event is expected to take place at the National Independence Memorial Museum Restaurant (NIMMS). These selection processes include a public voting system which is open to the public until the 27th of September. A link will be shared. As well as judging process from a judging panel. Where they will collaborate and consult various industry experts.

Katutura Fashion Week will also feature musical performances which will be strictly by Namibian artists. “As we draw closer to the event we will reveal the artist line-up which will strictly feature Namibian artist.”

“The event will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Tickets are already available at Webtickets and Pick n Pay outlets countrywide. We decided to announce early to give people enough time to prepare,” summed up event coordinator Indongo.
