Helalia Johannes Wins A Bronze Medal At The World Athletics Championships

Namibian legendary marathon runner Helalia Johannes made history as she became the first Namibian female athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships.

Helalia Johannes who is the reigning Commonwealth Games marathon champion walked away with the bronze medal in the women’s marathon at the world athletics championship in Doha. Helalia came up short against Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich who struck gold in women’s marathon while Bahrain’s Rose Chelimo took silver.

Despite her age, Helalia had an excellent year collecting 9 medals as she continues to dominate the marathon world.
