If someone asks you to name the top 5 DJ's in the country at the moment and you don't mention DJ Dreas, you need your local house playlist updated, you need to attend more local house event, because in all honesty, you're sleeping on most probably the hottest DJ in the country right now.
Andreas Ngula Nambambi, better known ad DJ Dreas is a 19 year old Computer Science student at the University of Namibia. When he's not doing anything school related, he's either cooking beats or moving crowds or producing tracks for household names. He has quite an impressive resumé, from working with Hilifa94, TopCherri, Michael Pulse, Enchante, Slickartie and Chesta Houseprince.
Dreas burst onto the local music scene with his first mixtape titled 1962 and he never slowed down. In December 2017, he dropped his second house/dancehall mixtape titled We Are Live.
We Are Live was a 15 track mixtape that had every event organiser knocking on his DM's door hoping they can get him to come liven up the crowd with his magical rhythms.
He has performed at major parties like Phantom and March Madness, he's the face of The Loft Windhoek's regular Club Takeover, he was also one of the few DJ's that made House Effect an unforgettable house event.
He is set to perform at arguably one the biggest house music events of the year, The Otjiwarongo Bush Party, he claims that this is probably the biggest highlight of his career, in his own words he says "I remember being in the crowd at the very first Bush Party and that day I spoke something into existence, I remember telling my friends that one day it's gonna be me up there, and the work never stopped."
On Thursday the 27th of September, Dreas will bless the whole nation with what he refuses to call a mixtape but rather a double jointed EP. Vol.1 of Pluto is for the dancers and stage breakers, whereas Vol.2 is for everyone who is in touch with their deeper side. On the 27th of September, we land on PLUTO, our pilot is DJ Dreas and for the first time, aliens and humans will dance in one room.
