Delicious Minced Beef Recipe
Ground beef or minced beef as many are likely to call it, has become a staple in many kitchens today. So versatile, budget friendly and easy to prepare, ground beef goes well with many if not every starchy food group. I personally love it and must have it in my kitchen as I am a fan of lasagnes, pies, bolognese, meatballs and meatloaf. This particular recipe is as easy as the others and does not require hours of kitchen duty time. As far as taste goes, it is equally delicious, flavorful and highly enjoyable. Below is what you will need.
Ingredients:
Mince meat
1 tablespoon of Dried Oregano
1 teaspoon of Dried thyme
1 tablespoon Dried parsley
1 teaspoon of Cumin
1 teaspoon of Coriander
3 teaspoon of Tomato paste
3 teaspoons of Chutney
1 Diced Yellow onion
2 large Fresh tomato
2 tablespoons of Garlic butter
2 large potatoes peeled and diced
Seasoning of your choice
Method:
In a large skillet, sweat the onions on low heat,once translucent add the dried herbs (excluding the parsley), bay leave, cumin and coriander. Allow the flavors to infuse for a minute.
Add the minced meat and cook until browned while stirring and breaking the mince up into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon).
To the skillet add the diced potatoes and 1 cup of water and simmer.
Once the potatoes are cooked, stir in tomato paste, chutney and garlic butter into the pan.
Once the sauce has thickened reduce the heat and add the fresh tomatoes, cover with a lid and cook for an additional minute or two.
Remove the skillet from heat and use parsley to garnish.
I served mine with basmati rice and creamy butternut.
