Champion Returns and Promises to Restore Hip-Hop to its Former Glory

After leaving the industry for what seemed like an eternity, Diogene Ochs aka DJay is finally making his way back to music. The “Champion” hit maker and multiple award winning artist who recently signed to Deal Done Records says that he has amazing work in the pipeline. We had a sit down with DJay to talk about his music career, love life and future plans. The artist has an album coming out later this year titled “Champion” which seemed to be one of the biggest things to happen to Namibian Hip-Hop. The album will feature Young T and hopefully Lioness.

While away from the industry, DJay had a job at NTA and did say that he almost got comfortable with the salary but his musical yearning finally made him pursue his way back to music.

When asked what he thought about KP Illest who is clearly running the Hip-Hop scene right now, DJay said that he was happy that KP is doing well and that he is proud of him, given that he saw KP grow since his high school Hip-Hhop aspiration before DJay left the industry. He goes on to say that KP and Lioness are the only artists he thinks have respected the art and that everyone else is “clowning.”

Keeping up with his personal life, DJay is also a father to his son Damani, with his baby mama and current girlfriend Augusta. DJay who says he had just come out of a 7-year relationship with his ex who cheated on him seemed to be very happy with his newfound love and family.
