Africa’s First Meme Award Program
Memes work really hard on creating content and to elicit humor. The African Meme Association Creator’s Award (AMACA|) is here to put a ring on it.
In a world where we celebrate so many accomplishments by awarding people a trophy or a token of appreciation for their efforts, memes have been left out for far too long. Namibian meme01 shared what looks to be an award program on his Instagram story.
The owner of the page Namibian meme01, goes on to say that he had no idea about the program and urged his followers to go vote!
The African meme association creator’s award, 2021, contains the following categories:
- MEME OF THE YEAR- Awarded to the most viral meme trend in the last 12 months.
- BEST newcomer-Awarded to the best meme page to have come out in the last 12months.
- FAST GROWING PAGE-Awarded to a meme page which has seen a significant spike in followers and engagement in the past 12 months.
- COMEMESTANCY -Awarded to the most consistent meme creator in the last 12 months.
- MEMENOVATION-Awarded to the page with new innovative meme content.
- CREATOR OF THE YEAR-Awarded to the best overall meme page of the year.
- BEST VERNACULAR
There are a number of meme pages like Namibian_meme01, Namibian_laughter, Mr.laughter, Zim_Imao, and Dololo_memes, that appear to be dominating the rankings in most of the categories that will be considered for the final cut. There is still much that remains unsaid, such as who the founders are and what inspired the creation of it all. Stay tuned as we reveal more details on the (AMACA 2021).
