African Stars Lose Out on CAF group stages to the defending Champions

Badr Banoun with the only goal to put the defending Champions from Morocco  into the group stages, as African Stars crash out of the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.

African Stars went into the match knowing that they must score to keep their hopes of progressing to the group stages alive, but the home side, Raja Casablanca dominated the away side from the beginning of the game, as Stars had no response at all. Raja would take the lead after the break thanks to their captain Benoun.

However after Raja scored, African Stars responded by going on the offence and almost scoring on several occasions,  but it wasn’t meant to be for the away side. The game ended with two players getting send off from both sides when a fight broke out on the pitch during the stoppage time.
