2017 Namibian Music Awards Winners
The biggest names in Namibian music were out at the 7th Namibian Music Awards which took place on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April 2017 at the coastal town of Walvis Bay. Glamorous in all its glory and star packed with amazing talent. Our wonderful Namibian celebs where dressed, groomed and ready to impress. There were those that gracefully paraded their local fashion brands and some that dared to wear international brands. Too remarkable for words when you have too many beings well put together. Jaws dropped while question marks raised when some turned up dressed like they are going for a Sunday Kapana session at Bix car wash. The prestigious event were hosted by South African Radio and TV personality Bonang Matheba with our own multi-talented entertainers Uejaa Kazondunge and Mappz Kapofi. With all that talent in one room one could only expect tough competition in all the categories and well deserved winners. The musical event was blessed with a world class live performance by South African gospel legend Rebeca Malope.
New kid on the block Young T was one of the biggest winners when he scooped the Song of the Year award for his popular song “Fikulimwe”, while other big winners include Gazza and Monique English for Best Male and Best Female Artist of the Year respectively. Hip-Hop legend Jericho won the controversial Best Hip-Hop category. South African rapper Cassper Nyovest won the Pan African Artist of the Year award.
